One Line Shooting Schedule | |

Complete a script breakdown sheet (included in the Preproduction Forms download) for each scene in your script. For many student films, the most important scheduling factor will be efficient use of your actors, who are donating their time. (See the grouping of cast numbers on the schedule below.) You will also want to shoot all the scenes in one location at the same time if possible, particularly if the location is distant or difficult to access (see the Hospital scenes below.) Start with simple scenes such as static interiors on the first day, so cast and crew can get used to their roles (see Waiting Room and Hallway scenes below.) Then schedule exteriors early in the shoot, in case weather forces a delay (see Night car scenes on Day 2 below.) Also schedule exteriors early in the day while light is not a problem. For a short film you can skip the Production Strip Board and go straight to a One Line Schedule. See Celtx Notes for steps in producing the One Line Schedule in the format seen below:
