Final Project Pitches

OK, FILM 250 students -- if you don't yet have a co-producer and you would like one, please:

1) Submit your film idea (up to 100 words) to me by e-mail for inclusion here, and/or

2) Look over these ideas and contact somebody whose idea you would like to co-produce. You can work with someone in any section.

Thanks.

Section A

I am looking to produce a film which is borderline experimental, with thriller and suspense aspects very prevalent in the story line. My main character (yet to be named) is a man in his 30's who is trying to remember his life up until the current point in the film. He is left confused and unsure of his past, suggesting he has suffered from memory loss or a tragic accident. The film includes flashbacks of his life as a child and that of a little girl, suggesting a lost love in his past. I am open to creative input. Let me know if you're interested in being a co-producer. Name: Alessio DeCivita E-mail: 6cad4@queensu.ca.

Synopsis: I'm doing an experimental film about decision making in life. It will be based around one girl and one decision she made that has made her second guess her choices in life. The tone is relatively suspenseful and serious. By choosing to do an experimental film I am excited to experiment with different lighting techniques, camera angles, sounds, and different editing styles. If you're looking to be creative and have ideas to offer surrounding different artistic elements, I would love to have your help. Name: Gabi Eliasoph Phone: 613 583-8295 E-mail: 8gre1@queensu.ca

Section B

Synopsis: In this linear narrative, an altruistic police officer burdens herself with not only taking responsibility over her city and its inhabitants, but also over her mentally challenged younger brother. Her character is put to the test at the climax of the film, at which point she must choose between saving the life of an innocent civilian - whose possibly-fatal wound may have been caused by her bullet - or the life of her beloved brother. In the end there is a cruel twist of irony that supports a deterministic view, and suggests that her life-altering decision was doomed from the start. The tone will be serious (not dramatic), and very suspenseful. Catharsis at end. Am open to creative lighting and editing. I am very methodical, organized, and plan on shooting over three shooting sessions. Name: Mel Simon Phone: 613-888-2852 e-mail: melsimon_76@hotmail.com

Section C

Synopsis: I'm doing a documentary piece on learning disabilities and the specific resources that Queen's has to offer students. Inserted are dramatic scenes which attempt to visually portray the anxiety and isolation that people with learning disabilities often endure. Name: Natalie Wainwright e-mail: 8nlw@queensu.ca
