Jeep Farm

by Chris (Copperswilly) Reinthaler

These are pictures of Terry Ackert's "Jeep Farm" southwest of Shokan, New York. The Jeeps and Jeep parts he has are all for sale. You can contact Terry at 144 Grassy Ridge Road, Olivebridge NY, or phone 1-845-657-6692, and he will show you the way to the Jeeps. The trail up the mountain is a bit rough and steep. Being up there walking around with my Mom and kids made me worry a little because the Terry kept talking about the bears that live in and around some of these Jeeps.

CJ-3B find
This is the '61 3B that I bought -- it's in OK shape... it has fire but hasn't popped over yet.

Another 3B
This is an early 3B but it didn't have any plates, just wasp nests under the hood.

Jeeps
The Jeeps go down and around the corner. This is where the bears were, so with the kids we stayed away.

More Jeeps
There were bear claw scratches on these Jeeps .

The kids
That's my Mom and my two boys behind this Tuxedo Park.

The grilles
I thought this picture was very cool. Note the stack of windshields under the grilles.

Postal
Mail Jeep with 4-wheel drive.

Triplets
Rusted and busted but restorable.

Foward Control
Nice Forward Control... really good shape. He had about 6 or 7 Forward Controls.

3B frame
Just Jeeps in every corner of this place.

Thanks to Chris for the photographs. By the way, Terry's "Jeep Farm" is not far from the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. -- Derek Redmond
