1:6 Scale Fire Jeep Construction


Here's a look at Tim Kano's CJ-2A Fire Jeep model in various stages of construction. Click on any of the pictures below to see a larger copy of the photo (70K JPEG).

Finished model The completed Jeep is 22 inches long. With the trailer, the model is 36 inches long overall.
 

Original Jeep The original GI Joe Jeep requires some repairs and a new, curved bumper.
 

Painting After construction of the rear body from styrene, the wheels of the Jeep are masked with foil for painting.
 

Assembly Assembly of the final details begins.
 

Trailer body The trailer is also built mainly from styrene sheet and channel.
 

Assembled trailer The trailer ready for painting.
 

Finished model The size of this model allows an impressive level of detail.
