Jeep Radio Commercials

These radio spots date from the mid-1960's, when the Jeepster Commando made its debut, and the CJ-3B was being phased out as a member of the "Jeep Universal" family of CJ's, leaving only the CJ-5 and CJ-6, and briefly the CJ-5A and CJ-6A. (See the History of the Universal Jeep poster).

The commercials were intended to have a local dealer tag added at the end, and were supplied to radio stations on a seven-inch, 33-1/3 RPM record. The recordings have been compressed to produce the small QuickTime files found on this page.

We'll Drive There

"Hey, look at that washout!"
"OK, wise guy, what do we do now?"
"Shift into Jeep 4-wheel drive!"

Used Universal

"You'll find that Jeep owners hang onto these all-purpose workhorses year after year after year, because Jeep ruggedness never goes out of style!"

Family Fight

"Alice, where are the keys to the Jeepster? I'm late for golf."
"John, I was going..."
"Alice, I'm taking it to the club!"
